Singer Changes Insipid Lyrics to Equally Vapid Lyrics and Draws Ire of Atheists and Lennon Fans

Since I seem to be making people mad today with my views on music, I might as well go for the gold.  I find this kind of funny:
R&B singer Cee Lo Green prompted a rush of anger for his New Year‘s Eve performance of John Lennon’s “Imagine” in which he swapped the lyrics “no religion too” to “all religions true.”

Green performed the famous ballad shortly before the ball dropped in New York’s Times Square. It was broadcast during NBC‘s New Year’s Eve special and CNN carried a portion of it as well.

The full line Green changed was: “Nothing to kill or die for, And all religions true,” prompting a flurry of angry reactions from atheists and Lennon fans alike on Twitter.
I've said on several occasions that I think the lyrics to "Imagine" are some of the dumbest ever written. Given what he had to work with, Green couldn't possibly have made them worse.

The cool kids want to believe Lennon's lyrics are "brilliant" and "deep" because that's what the other cool kids think.  However, even Lennon could have a bad day and the day he came up with "Imagine" was a clunker.  It tickled the political correct sensibilities of Lennon followers who assumed it must be brilliant because they couldn't believe he could write something that dumb.

He did.

By the way, I'm not the only one who thinks "Imagine" is the worst song of all time.  Read this classic piece from Kurt Schlichter.
