I gue...So, we're almost a Christian theocracy. I guess that's why abortion and gay marriage are illegal now and all the stores are closed on Sunday. Oh wait, they're not.

Look, if you want to have an anti-Christian bias, go ahead and exult in your ignorance, but don't make stuff up and declare it to be fact. Just because you care about something does not make it true that anyone else does.

And the guys at the beach didn't even tear pages out of a Bible as advertised, they only torn up pages on which they'd printed Bible verses. They were even more cowardly than I thought.

If this is the best atheism has to offer, it's in a pretty sorry state.Rick Moorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06087847892047296117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8402082.post-30772321747494357362011-09-20T01:59:11.275-07:002011-09-20T01:59:11.275-07:00You are wrong Rick, they plan to do the Quran next...You are wrong Rick, they plan to do the Quran next. People always make this accusation, and when they actually criticise Islam the Christians go quiet. See Sam Harris.
And Christianity is far more pushed in America than Sharia law, America is almost a Christian theocracy.

And people do care about their issue - I'm proof of that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8402082.post-45389896848633918362011-09-18T07:56:43.303-07:002011-09-18T07:56:43.303-07:00Number one, if you haven't noticed how Sharia ...Number one, if you haven't noticed how Sharia law is being pushed on societies all over the world (see Britain, for instance), you're not paying attention. Secondly, tearing up anyone's holy book is just another immature reaction from a bunch of people who can't seem to get over the fact that nobody cares about their issue.

And, they're cowards.Rick Moorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06087847892047296117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8402082.post-51859779279190130842011-09-18T04:37:13.166-07:002011-09-18T04:37:13.166-07:00I understand the point the author is trying to mak...I understand the point the author is trying to make, however when it comes to political policy we are told "this is a Christian nation". As of right now we don't have politicians telling us we need to base our laws on the Qur'an, but politicians like Governor Perry are constantly toting their "Christian values". The Backyard Atheists are merely trying to point out the hypocrisy of claiming that your values can come from a text that not only advocates immoral behavior but demands it. The majority will always be an easier target however. I will say I do agree though that immoral behavior is present in almost all holy books and perhaps they should have torn those as well.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05837006407009544339noreply@blogger.com
