Foleygate Fading

CNN reports that most Americans (unlike the mainstream media) don't think Foleygate is that important an issue:
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Only about a quarter of Americans say the scandal over former Rep. Mark Foley will be "extremely important" in how they vote in November's congressional elections, according to a CNN poll released Tuesday.

That figure falls far below issues such as Iraq, terrorism and the economy.

The actual number was 27%, but no party breakdown was given (it may be in the full report). I'm assuming that most of those consumed by Foleygate are not conservative Republicans, but liberal Dems who weren't going to vote for Republicans anyway.

Give it three more weeks (until election day) and I'll bet that 27%, like Foley's own prurient interest, is down in the low teens somewhere.
