Arnold Chooses NASCAR Over Oscar

I found it interesting that yesterday that on Hollywood's biggest day of the year, movie star turned governor Arnold chose not to wave at the fans from the red carpet, but instead chose to wave the green flag at the start of the NASCAR Auto Club 500 in Fontana. Arnold is running for reelection, and I think he realizes that his core constituency is much more likely to enjoy NASCAR than Hollywood. Good choice, Gov!

(On a side note, I wish the NASCAR officials would teach the grand marshalls how to wave the green flag without looking like complete doofusses (or is it doofi?). There is a technique to it which none of the honorees have ever mastered. I'm still waiting for the day when the guy drops the flag right into the radiator of the outside pole winner and puts him out of the race.)
