The Bush Tapes

The NY Times is all abuzz today with a report on some tapes that were recorded secretly by a former friend of President Bush. The "friend" is trying to pass off his betrayal of Bush's confidence as some sort of historical project, but the bottom line is Bush trusted him as a friend, and the guy decided to give the tapes to the media in the hope of making a few bucks off them.

For many prominent persons secretly recorded conversations made public might prove to be a bit of a problem, the here's what the Times says:
The private Mr. Bush sounds remarkably similar in many ways to the public President Bush.
In other words, the guy you see on TV every day is the same guy in private. That must be very disappointing to the Times who probably thought this could be a big "gotcha" moment for them. A one day story at best.
