It's A Good Thing He Isn't Married

In the news today we hear that Pope John Paul II has been given a feeding tube to aid his calorie intake. The Pope is 84 years old and suffers from a multiple health problems including Parkinson's disease.

At the same time a 41 year old woman, brain damaged but otherwise healthy, is in her 13th day without foot or water after her husband ordered her feeding tube removed. The fact that she's survived this long indicates that she was in pretty good overall health before the decision to kill her.

There's something wildly ironic about these two events occuring at the same time. As my wife stated: "It's a good thing the Pope's not married."

UPDATE: Apparently great minds think alike, because I saw this in Best of the Web Today after publishing this post:
He's Lucky He Isn't Married
