OK, she doesn’t believe that the Bible is the inspired holy text of God, it’s just a “metaphor”, and it takes the “gospels” that were never included in the first place to make her “feel” good about being a Christian . . . what’s wrong with this picture? Let’s see, if I think that Buddha was just some ol’ fat guy with a few catchy sayings, I can be a Buddhist? Or hey, if I think that Mohammad was just a crazy desert scribe thinking that he’s the lastest and greatest since Jesus so he wrote a new desert scripture; but hey, it’s tomorrow-land now so I can eat my pulled pork sandwiches, drink a case of beer and call myself a good Muslim? Nah . . . it doesn’t work that way. Now, times do change, and religions do have Reformations, thank God, but the core tennant of your belief has to be there, or it’s not truth.
