Senators Are Losing Their Minds

That's just about the conclusion you can come to when you review the debates of the past few weeks. We've had Crying George, Leaky Leahy, Dumb-as-a-Box-of-Rocks Boxer, Drunken Ted, and many, many others. Illinois Senator Dick Durbin contributed to the insanity with this little gem during the Energy Bill debate yesterday - yes, the Energy Bill. I've added a few comments of my own. See if you can guess which ones are mine (h/t AmericanThinker.com):
On one occasion, the air conditioning had been turned down so far and the temperature was so cold in the room, that the barefooted detainee was shaking with cold (horrors!). ..... On another occasion, the [air conditioner] had been turned off, making the temperature in the unventilated room well over 100 degrees. The detainee was almost unconscious on the floor, with a pile of hair next to him. He had apparently been literally pulling his hair out throughout the night (oh the humanity!). On another occasion, not only was the temperature unbearably hot, but extremely loud rap music was being played in the room, and had been since the day before, with the detainee chained hand and foot in the fetal position on the tile floor (not rap music, nooooooooo!).

If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime--Pol Pot or others--that had no concern for human beings. Sadly, that is not the case. This was the action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners
(and that's a problem?).
Let's review, shall we. The Nazis killed millions of Jewish people through various diabolical methods of torture and execution, including gas chambers and medical experiments conducted on still-living prisoners, and we shouldn't forget the millions more who were not Jewish but were just inconvenient. The Soviets killed something like 20 million people in their various gulags and labor camps. Oh yes, and Pol Pot and his merry band contributed to the early demise of some 2 million Cambodians (remember The Killing Fields?). And, according to Durbin, American soldiers are just like them. What a moron. Making people uncomfortable has now become equal to mass murder.

And let's not forget what kind of folks we have at Gitmo. For instance, the 20th hijacker. This guy was supposed to be on United flight 93 that crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. His job was to be additional muscle, which means had he made the flight as planned, the outcome could have been very different. We might still be rebuilding the Capitol building or the White House to this day .

As Rush pointed out on his show today, the Dems have gotten progressively shrill because no one takes them seriously anymore. They have to ramp up their rhetoric in the vain hopes that someone might start listening to them. I've got a suggestion for them, as once said by Jack Nicholson - "Go sell crazy somewhere else, we're all stocked up here".
