This morning, Newsweek editor Evan Thomas appeared on the Imus in the morning show. (Thomas called in from Martha's Vineyard--small eyeroll) Imus mentioned something about Jeff Foxworthy and asked Thomas, "do you know who he is?" Thomas' answer was an instantaneous "no". Imus followed up, "do you know who Larry the cable guy is?" An even more emphatic "no". Imus and cohort Charles McCord spent the next 30 seconds jeering Thomas, "How can you be the editor of Newsweek and be so out of touch?"Obviously neither Foxworthy or Larry represent high class entertainment, but the folks in the red states know who these guys are (and probably a lot of blue states too). In fact, probably more folks know who these two guys are than know who Evan Thomas is.
