There was more United Church of Christ nonsense as they ended their general session with a resolution demanding that Isreal tear down the wall they're putting up in the Gaza region. This wall has already proven to cut down the number of suicide bombers getting into Isreali areas, and has saved many lives. That, apparently, is not a concern to the UCC.
Hugh Hewitt commented on his show about how his own church, the Presbyterian Church USA, voted to divest itself of investments in companies that do business in Isreal. In other words, the PCUSA is not interested in investing in companies that do business with GOD'S CHOSEN PEOPLE. Real smart move, and how very Christian of them (Roger Simon talks about it here). Hugh is already threatening to withhold from his giving based on their decision. Maybe a new church would be in order.
The good news is that both of these denominations are dying. Attend one of their churches and you'll find a collection of old people stubbornly hanging onto the past while their leaders push them into a future of oblivion. Just like a bad rash, they'll eventually go away.
