RightWingNuthouse has put together something sure to be of interest to those of us who are Civil War buffs. He's "liveblogging" the battle of Gettysburg, written from the perspective of someone who was alive at that time and assuming there was an Internet back then (we all know that there was no Internet in 1863 because Al Gore hadn't been born yet). He has a daily entry from June 27th through the climactic battle (the famous "Pickett's charge" which took place 142 years ago today. As of his latest post the Rebel army is just stepping off towards what we now know will be a significant defeat. Take a look - it's well done (h/t Hugh Hewitt).
In another Civil War-related post, Professor Bainbridge salutes Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, the hero of Little Round Top, the pivotal battle which was fought on July 2, 1863.
