Save the Birds, Build a Nuke Plant

Anyone who has traveled through the Altamont pass in northern California has seen the ugly windmill farms that line the hills (or for that matter, the Banning pass near Palm Springs). They were built in response to the hysteria about creating alternative energy sources.

Sadly, no one thought to notify the local birds that they shouldn't try fly through the flailing blades, and the wind turbins up north are taking out more birds than an NRA convention.
A California Energy Commission study estimated wind turbines in the Altamont kill 881 to 1,300 birds of prey a year, including as many as 116 federally protected golden eagles.

Apparently being federally protected does not make them propellor-proof.

There's an easy solution to this - build a nuclear plant. They don't kill birds and don't clutter up our scenic hillsides. The local fish may glow a little, but hey, it makes them easier to find at night.
