One of the poster boys from this weekend's anti-war protests was a guy named Jeb Eddy from Palo Alto, CA who was pictured in an AP photo holding a sign which read "I'm a Republican and I'm Ashamed of this GOP" (here's the photo). Of course, the only thing the media loves more than Democrats who hate Bush are Republicans who hate Bush, so of course this photo got a lot of play.
There's only one minor problem: Mr. Eddy is a Democrat, as evidenced by a well-researched piece of fact-checking that you can find at Wizbang blog. According to the Federal Elections Commission, Mr. Eddy has a long record of contributions to Democratic candidates and campaign committees, and has tried this little trick before.
Actually, I knew right away he was a Democrat. All you have to do is look at the "I'm about to upchuck my lunch" look on his face, and you know he's a Dem. Dems have a constant state of indigestion that you can spot a mile away.
I don't mind if someone wants to protest against the president or the war - just don't lie about who you are.
