I'm no expert on Arabic writing, but from a laymen's standpoint, I'm not sure how this guy could be offended by this comparison. Yes, there are a few similarities, but nothing that would cause a reasonable person to connect the two. Therein, of course, is the problem, because when you're dealing with guys like this, you're not dealing with reasonable people.

Follow-up on the Burger King/Jihad Situation
The Corner has a better picture of both the famous Burger King ice-cream cone lid, and the written version of Allah's name which got the British guy's turban in a wad:

Yes, there are a few similarities, but nothing that would cause a reasonable person to connect the two.
