L.A. Archdiocese "Hide the Molester" Program

In documents that have just been released as part of a lawsuit, it has been revealed that the L.A. Archdiocese has had a long running program to transfer their problem priests from parish to parish, without actually dealing with the problem:
After nearly three years of legal wrangling, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles has released information from the personnel files of 126 clergy accused of sexual abuse.

The confidential records show that for more than 75 years the nation's largest archdiocese shipped accused priests between therapy and new assignments, often ignoring parishioners' complaints.

And, in many cases, there was little mention of child molestation. Instead, euphemisms such as "boundary violations" were used to describe the conduct.
As someone who works in the church insurance business (which includes covering churches for sexual misconduct), I can guarantee you that this is the worst possible way to handle these problems, short of ignoring them altogether. Catholics who give to their church will be paying for this for many, many years.
