Bridge to Nowhere...Goes Nowhere in Congress

A little sanity has prevailed in the budget negotiations in Congress. Alaska's famous bridge (or bridges) to nowhere have been defunded according to the Club for Growth. Given the temper tantrum thrown by Sen. Ted Stephens when this was last brought up, I imagine things between him and his fellow senators are a little frosty today.

UPDATE: Not as much sanity as we'd hoped. The earmarks for the bridges are gone, but the funds will still go to the state as a block grant. Consequently, the state can still build the bridges if they want. Net savings - $0.
