Senate GOP Fundraising Numbers Look Weak

Awhile ago I reported on the wonderfully terrible fundraising job that Howard the Donkey was doing when compared to the Republican National Committee. The RNC was stomping the DNC.

The results are reversed when you look at the Senatorial campaign committees. As Hugh Hewitt notes, the Dems under Chuckie Schumer are wacking the GOP:

Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee 11/19/2005 The Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee filed its report covering 10/1/2005-10/31/2005. The committee reports $3,030,580 in receipts and $1,691,585 in disbursements. Cash on hand totals $20,588,392

National Republican Senatorial Committee
11/19/2005
The National Republican SenatorialCommittee filed its report covering 10/1/2005-10/31/2005. The committee reports $2,350,853 in receipts and $2,644,954 in disbursements. Cash on hand totals $9,127,833

Chuckie is probably pretty effective at scaring Dems into donating to his campaign warchest, but there's certainly more to the story than that. There is much disgust among Republicans for the GOP Senators who have seemed frozen when it comes to fight Dem attacks, and in the case of the 7 GOP members of the gang of 14, have even allied with the Dems to fight the White House. The result of that has been campaigns calling for a refusal of funds to the GOP until they get their act together and decide just whose side their on.

Things may be a little grim for the '06 Senatorial elections if Republicans don't feel that it's worth their money to give to the GOP, and the GOP will have no one to blame but themselves.
