Today is Veteran's Day, and we should all take a moment to thank those who have served and are serving. I have many relatives who have served in our armed forces, and my father-in-law is a decorated veteran of the European campaign in WWII. He has a silver star, bronze star, and two purple hearts to show for it, so you know he didn't phone it in. He was in the thick of the fight and has the stories...and scars...to go with it. His self-published book is an amazing first-hand look at the life of a 19 year old Army grunt trudging and fighting his way across France. I have a hard time imagining myself doing the same things when I was 19.
Thanks, Vets!
