Is Bin Laden Starting to Wave the White Flag?

Once again the world's press had to come to a clattering stop to breathlessly report on the latest utterings of Osama bin Laden. I swear, everytime that guy farts in a tapedeck the mainstream media just goes nuts, and then for hours all you see on TV are various talking heads discussing what he did or didn't say.

What's interesting about this latest statement is that it's clear that bin Laden's press department has been paying close attention to Democrat talking points, because if you didn't know it was OBL, you'd assume it was Howard Dean, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, Teddy Kennedy, Harry Reid....and the list goes on. Bin Laden and the Democrats have definitely had some sort of mind meld because they're both saying the same things.

There was also this interesting passage:

We do not object to a long-term truce with you on the basis of fair conditions that we respect.

We are a nation to which God has disallowed treachery and lying.

In this truce, both parties will enjoy security and stability and we will build Iraq and Afghanistan which were destroyed by the war.

Truce? I'm not a military guy, but from everything I know about war, the first guy that offers a truce is usually the guy that's losing. The winner has no need for a truce.

Bin Laden's organization is clearly getting hammered, and although this tape was likely made before the Predator enema was administered to OBL's main bombmaker last weekend, I'm sure the loss in both leadership and soldiers is taking a toll on al Qaeda's ability to function.

I say we should start checking those Pakistani caves for the presence of white flags...and then if we find one, drop a bunker buster on it. Let's not deprive bin Laden of the martyrdom he craves.
