NBC 0 for 2 in Battles With Religious Right

Looks like pressure from the religious right has contributed to NBC changing another show.
Reacting to pressure from Christian groups, NBC canceled an episode of "Will & Grace" that featured Britney Spears as a conservative who hosts a cooking segment called "Cruci-fixin's" on a Christian TV network.

NBC last week was forced to pull its highly touted new show "The Book of Daniel" because of charges its portrayal of Jesus was blasphemous,

Spears was to appear as a sidekick to the regular character Jack, who hosts his own talk show on the homosexual network Out TV, which is bought by a Christian TV network. The episode was to air April 13, just before Good Friday.

Just a couple of weeks ago the Book of Daniel died a slow, unwatched death after many Christians objected to the content and themes of that show. I never saw it, and from what I hear, it was so bad it would have been quickly cancelled with or without complaints.

Will & Grace has been getting more and more political with every episode, according to the Instawife, Dr. Helen:
Will and Grace seems to be getting worse and worse with PC innuendos tossed in for good measure on every show. On this one, Grace mentions the "uppity Canadians, what with their free health care and gay rights." The message? Americans refuse healthcare to many and are hung up on homophobia. And the digs about homophobia continue in another scene, while at a resort of some sort, Jack tells his son not to hug him on a street corner since one corner is named Murder and the other Homophobia. Yes, that is typical of most Americans--just ready to kill or maim any two men they see hugging.
That's another show that makes my skin crawl, so I've never watched it. It's getting to the point where Hollywood is making shows just to please each other, without considering the desires of all those hayseeds in middle America, much of which isn't thrilled about the current TV & movie themes. Hey Hollywood - don't forget that it's those hayseeds who are buying your sponsors products, or would buy them if they watched your show and saw the commercials.

Just look at the Oscar nominees this year. Has there ever been a year in which so few people have seen ANY of the five nominees? This collection of politically-correct leftist tripe appeals to so few Americans, I doubt if anyone will really care who wins. My guess is the ratings for the Oscar show will continue the decline which has gone on for a few years.
