Dixie Twits Try to Resurrect Career with New Bush Bash

Anybody heard from the Dixie Twits Chicks lately? After their 2003 episode of "boot in mouth" disease, they sort of faded from view as the fans and radio stations turned against them in large numbers.

Now they're promoting a new album by promising a "provocative" new song once again fighting Bush:
Country trio the DIXIE CHICKS are planning to re-ignite their feud with US President GEORGE W BUSH in a provocative new song. The group sparked controversy when singer NATALIE MAINES publicly criticized Bush during a concert in London in 2003 - and fans staged bonfires, where they burned CDs and merchandise after calling the girls traitors. That led to Maines sobbing during an apologetic interview on US TV. But the feisty singer remains defiant and has penned new tune NOT READY TO MAKE NICE, which addresses the controversy surrounding her concert comments. Maines teamed up with former SEMISONIC frontman DAN WILSON to write the song, which begins, "Forgive, sounds good/Forget, I'm not sure I could/They say time heals everything/But I'm still waiting."
Nice try, ladies, but this is clearly an attempt to gin up some controversy in the hopes that it will drive up CD sales. The act has grown old and tired, and if they can't get people to buy their stuff simply by making good CD's, maybe it's time to quit.
