A publicist seeking coverage for the high-profile gay presence at tomorrow's White House Easter Egg Roll has sent an e-mail to reporters in an effort to make sure they have the information they need to cover the event:I'm sure a good time will be had by all.
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and allied families will gather between 10:30 and 11:00 am EST at the SOUTHWEST CORNER OF 15TH AND E STS. NEAR THE VISITOR'S PAVILION FOR THE ELLIPSE and proceed to the festivities and the event at the South lawn of the White House. The timed tickets for entry to the official events is 11:45 am and Noon pm.
The celebration at Foundry United Methodist Church at 1500 16th NW (intersection of 16th St. and P St.) will now be held immediately after we attend the egg roll, starting at approximately 1:30 pm.
If you are interested in talking to individuals from the Family Pride Coalition or any families that are participating, please call me at **********.
Photos of the weekend's events and of participants at the egg roll will be available by the morning of 4/18. If you would like photos please make a request via email at **********.
In an apparently unprecedented campaign to use the Easter Egg Roll to publicize their message, an estimated 200 gay families are expected to go to the White House. One organizer told the Los Angeles Times, "We are not trying to politicize the event."
