There are some bloggers backpeddling pretty fast today over the Jill Carroll kidnapping and eventual release. I had some questions about her first interview occuring while wearing full Arab garb, but many jumped down the poor lady's throat over an interview she gave just prior to her release. She was very critical of the U.S. military and the U.S. effort in general. Many bloggers leaped to the conclusion that she was a full on enemy sympathizer.
A different story came out once she was finally out of Iraq, and it became obvious that she did what she felt she had to do to survive. The criticism she took in the blogosphere was not appropriate until all the facts were out.
I'm glad she got out of there and hopefully her story will add something to the whole Iraq war story.
