Rick Moran at RightWingNuthouse has an interesting theory that the CIA secret prisons story may really have been a sting operation run by the CIA to discover leakers in their midst. What's especially interesting is that the same day the leaker is fired, a group of European investigators can't come up with any evidence that these "secret prisons" ever existed. The whole thing could have been a story concocted as a ruse to trap those in the agency who would undermine the CIA's mission by leaking information to the press.
Read Rick's lengthy post on the issue here.
Could this mean that Dana Priest won a Pulitzer Price for what was basically a false story? Don't look for any corrections from the prize committee.
