(Part 1 and Part 3).
This morning the Good News Quartet made their debut during the Traditions service at Saddleback Church. The group is made up of Steve Maples (tenor), Dick Bailey (lead), Greg Beard (baritone), and moi (bass singer). During my 13 years with the Crimson River Quartet we almost always wore suits to sing. I kind of like the more casual attire. (Sorry, Steve, but my camera batteries quit after one picture - you'll be in it next time.)
Crimson River will still get out from time to time, so for those of you know know me from there, we're not done singing. Saddleback Church hasn't been open to a quartet until just recently, so we hope to use this new group to sing in various venues at the church.
Stay tuned for part 3 of my Father's Day which will take place at the Buddhist Temple in Hacienda Heights, CA. Some of you who follow politics may remember that temple because it played a role in the 1996 elections. More about that later.
