I could agree that using these weapons indiscriminately might be considered "anti-God", but to proclaim the mere possession of such weapons "anti-God" is a little silly.A group of bishops have warned Prime Minister Tony Blair that the possession of Trident nuclear weapons is "evil" and "profoundly anti-God".
In a letter published in The Independent, the 20 bishops said Trident was "evil" and that "possession and use are profoundly anti-God acts."
The money would be better spent helping developing countries, they say.
How much bloodshed and suffering has been deterred by the presence of such weapons? Would the bishops prefer that large scale world wars take place instead of having the "peace through superior firepower" approach?
And let's not forget, when it comes to total annihilation, nobody can top the Big Guy himself. Just read the Old Testament sometime.
