Enron's Ken Lay Beats Prison Rap

Enron founder Ken Lay won't be going to prison, but he did it the hard way:
Enron Corp. founder Kenneth Lay, who was convicted of helping perpetuate one of the most sprawling business frauds in U.S. history, has died of a heart attack in Colorado. He was 64.

A secretary at his church and another secretary for his lead criminal lawyer, Michael Ramsey, both confirmed the death. Lay, who lived in Houston, frequently vacationed in Colorado.

Lay, who faced life in prison, was scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 23.

Lay was basically spending his last couple of months as a free man, and I'm sure life in prison was weighing hard on him. You have to believe that the stress of the the whole Enron mess made this all possible.

UPDATE: Torture is a no-no for terrorists who want to kill Americans, but torture would have been okay for Ken Lay, according to this idiot at the Washington Post who is genuinely upset Lay died before he could suffer degredations at the hands of other prison inmates.
