School officials apologized after an X-rated font was used on a third-grade spelling packet handed out to parents. The font showed male and female stick figures in provocative poses to form the letters of the alphabet. How do you do something like that and not notice it before it gets to the kids? I checked my Microsoft Word program and there's not a single X-rated font on it, so I'm assuming you have to download it from another site, and then select it when you begin typing the paper. My guess is it wouldn't be set as the default, and even if it was, you'd see it on the screen as you typed.
Officials with the Monroe-Woodbury School District in Orange County apologized last week after parents at Pine Tree Elementary School were given the spelling packet at an open house.
Administrators said the teacher did not use the font intentionally.
Something's a little fishy here.
