Feinstein Winning Big in CA

This news from the CNN Political Ticker:

WASHINGTON (CNN) - California's U.S. Senate race remains a lopsided contest with Democratic Sen. Diane Feinstein far ahead of her Republican challenger, Richard Mountjoy, in the latest Field Poll. The poll was conducted from September 14 through September 24, 2006.

California U.S. Senate

Feinstein (D) 57%

Mountjoy (R) 29%

Sample Size: 557 Likely Voters

Margin of Error: +/- 4.3%

This is the first time that I realized that Feinstein wasn't running unopposed. I haven't seen a single ad, on TV, print or the web, for Mountjoy. He's clearly a sacrificial lamb because somebody...anybody, had to run against Feinstein.

It's sad that in a state where a Republican governor will trounce his opponent, the GOP can't find a candidate for Senate who has a chance against a lib like Feinstein.
