A government subsidy on sexy underwear would cut divorce rates, boost birth rates and make Australia a happier nation, a Melbourne clothing manufacturer said Wednesday.Isn't "getting very little" the whole purpose of lingerie purchases?
With 40 per cent of marriages now ending in divorce and a third of adult Australians without a partner, cutting the cost of crimson lace would save Canberra money in the long run, Leethal Fashion Accessories proprietor Gail Lee said.
“We need something to help people overcome these traumatic problems, and subsidized lingerie would mean women would feel a lot better, and their hubbies will feel a lot better,” Lee told Australia’s AAP news agency.
“But good lingerie is very expensive. You used to be able to buy a pair of knickers for 1 dollar, but now 20 dollars will get you very little.”
