Some Republican strategists are increasingly upset with what they consider the overconfidence of President Bush and his senior advisers about the midterm elections November 7–a concern aggravated by the president's news conference this week.Maybe that's why Bush isn't planning for a loss. When the voters realize what is likely to happen during the last two years of Bush's term under a Dem Congress, they may be inclined to vote against that kind of future.
"They aren't even planning for if they lose," says a GOP insider who informally counsels the West Wing. If Democrats win control of the House, as many analysts expect, Republicans predict that Bush's final two years in office will be marked by multiple congressional investigations and gridlock.

US News Complains That Bush Has No Plans to Lose
US News and World Report is fully invested in the notion that the Dems will sweep the GOP out of the Congress next month - so much so, they're concerned that President Bush doesn't have any plans to lose:
