Decorating Day

It is a tradition in the HolyCoast household that on the Friday after Thanksgiving we transform Casa de HolyCoast into a Christmas wonderland. The boxes of decorations (which are legion) come out of the garage and all four of us are put to work on the many Christmas projects. I'm the lighting director, which means before the end of the day I will have put up all the outside lights (pictures will come later), plus the lighted giant wreath and garland in the stairway.

The boy who is now 6' tall will give given some of the taller chores which I used to have to do. He's also in charge of the lighted Christmas villages which go up in the entryway. Mom and daughter will be putting out many other decorations around the house, and the last thing we'll all tackle is the 9 foot tree-in-a box that will go in the living room. We may not get it all done today, but we will finish it this weekend.

It's great fun going up, but boy do I hate taking it down.
