Menendez Has Trouble Brewing

On election night, when the New Jersey Senate race was called for Bob Menendez, I wrote this on my election night liveblog:
6:00 PM: Menedez has been called in NJ, Brown in Ohio, and Klobuchar in MN. Two are keepers for the Dems, and one's a pickup. I still think Menendez won't survive 6 years without a big scandal.
Told you so (from Political Wire):

"Federal investigators have resumed their inquiry into a rental deal between" Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) "and a nonprofit agency, issuing new subpoenas in the days after he was elected to a full six-year term," the Newark Star Ledger reports.
"The subpoenas sought documents related to the more than $300,000 in rent Menendez collected from the North Hudson Community Action Corp. between 1994 and 2003, the source said. It was unclear what records were sought or who was subpoenaed."

Said a source: "More are coming."

The voters in New Jersey must just love seeing their politicians either quit in disgrace or declare themselves "gay Americans". Had they elected Tom Kean Jr., they could have avoided it.
