The Nutcracker, Sponsored by Toyota Racing

The HolyCoast family is going to go see The Nutcracker this coming Saturday night at the Long Beach Terrace Theater. The Long Beach Ballet puts it on each year and the show has a cast of thousands (well, maybe hundreds). It's a very lavish production and fun to watch. We saw a Russian troupe perform The Nutcracker last year at the Performing Arts Center, but the traveling shows, though spectacular in their artistry, are much smaller, which is why we're going to Long Beach this time.

I'm sure there will be magic moments in Saturday's production, but probably nothing like what happened at the Nashville Ballet this past weekend:
(Three time NASCAR Champion) Darrell Waltrip played the humorous Mother Ginger with an engaging, understated demeanor that brought laughter from the audience, especially when he turned to reveal a racing logo on the back of his enormous skirt.
This is the only picture I could find (from WKRN):

I guess that makes him a drag racer.
