Fuelish Rhetoric

Apparently the president is going to make a pitch to have Americans cut their gasoline usage by 20%. Good luck with that.

The Dems had this to say:
House Democratic Caucus Chairman Rahm Emanuel suggested he would give the president's ideas a fair shake but questioned the president's commitment to them.

"Under his presidency our dependence on foreign oil as a key part of our energy policy has grown," said Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill. "It's one thing to call for goals and it's another thing to have accomplished or at least made some progress on that.

That is one of the most hypocritical and disingenuous statements I've ever heard from a Dem (and I've heard some doozies). If the country is more reliant on foreign oil today than it was six years ago, you can place the blame firmly at the feet of Emanuel's fellow tree-hugging Dems who won't allow drilling off our own shores or on our own land in Alaska. Emanuel's a fool.
