John Edwards Speaks for Jesus

Thus sayeth John Edwards:

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards says Jesus would be appalled at how the United States has ignored the plight of the suffering, and that he believes children should have private time to pray at school.

Do I think Jesus would be thrilled with the way things are in this country today? No. On that, Edwards and I agree.

What is left unsaid here is the action that Edwards would take to fix the problem to Jesus' liking. He's not interested in changing hearts and thereby encouraging volunteer charity on the part of the American people; he wants to force charity by taking more of your money and giving to others as the government (under a President Edwards) deems fit. On that, we disagree.
