And HBO is promising a fair and balanced treatment of the 2000 presidential election in its upcoming film called "Recount."The best recounting of the Florida fiasco that I've ever seen is Bill Sammon's book At Any Cost: How Al Gore Tried to Steal the Election. It's good enough that I've read it several times and each rereading stirs up the anger that I felt as the whole thing was going on. I'm guessing that HBO's take will be "How the Election Was Stolen from Al Gore", which if you read Sammon's book, you'll know isn't true.
But The Hill newspaper points out that almost everyone associated with the movie has been a Democratic party supporter and financial contributor — from the president of HBO films to the executive producer, the director and the writer, who says he has done detailed research and conducted many interviews with those involved.
But one Republican operative who was in the middle of the recount says he knows of no Florida Republican who was interviewed by the writer.

Fighting the Florida Recount Yet Again
Hollywood has decided to do a film on the 2000 Florida recount, and although HBO promises a fair retelling, there are reasons to doubt their sincerity (from Special Report):
