The headline on Drudge this morning says it all. Time Magazine's new "100 Most Influential People" includes folks like actress Tina Fey and singer and Janet Jackson-groper Justin Timberlake. The list also includes Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, George Clooney, George Soros and Rosie O'Donnell. Who's not on this year's list? President Bush.
Anyone who thinks that the president is less influential than some Hollywood types, or for that matter Nancy Pelosi, should just look at the news from the past few days. Pelosi and gang sent an Iraq surrender bill to the president who promptly vetoed it. The "influential" Ms Pelosi was unable to muster anything close to the votes needed to override the veto.
This is just another cheap shot by Time to marginalize the president, but no reasonable person is going to buy the idea that Justin Timberlake, or even a rookie Senator from Illinois, has more influence than the leader of the country.
