Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be announcing his plans for 2008 in just a few minutes (11am EDT). I'll liveblog the news as it happens.
UPDATE: Dale Jr. will drive for Rick Hendrick in '08. They'll have a Murderer's Row lineup of Jr., Jeff Gordon, Jimmy Johnson and Casey Mears. What a powerhouse.
UPDATE 2: At Hendrick Motorsports, Jr. will replace Kyle Busch in the Hendrick lineup. Busch will continue through the end of '07 in the #5 car. No word on Busch's '08 plans.
UPDATE 3: No announcement on car number or sponsor. That's still being worked out and will be announced later.
UPDATE 4: The personal relationship between owner and driver is obviously important to Jr. and made a difference in his decision to leave DEI. Dale Jr. has never gotten along particularly well with his stepmom Teresa Earnhardt, and has enjoyed a long relationship with Rick Hendrick (Rick even signed him to a contract on a napkin when he was 15). You can see there's a lot of warmth between the two and both are equally happy with this new agreement.
