…Bond said the possibility that New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward, ravaged by Hurricane Katrina, will never be rebuilt is comparable to a “lynching.”New Orleans was a drug-and-crime-filled swamp before Katrina turned it into a gator-filled swamp. If that was the "work of generations", the generations were lousy workers and their efforts needed to be undone. The place was a pit.
“It can be said that Katrina, like lynching, not only destroyed the work of generations in a single day, but is resulting in a deliberate effort to dispossess black landholders.”
If the Ninth Ward isn't rebuilt, it will be the first act of sanity down there in a long time. Building residential property 16 feet below the river and lake that borders it is foolish and eventually the work of these generations will be washed away again and the politicians of that day won't be able to blame President Bush.
By the way, today is the previously announced funeral for the "N" word. So, from now on, no rapper, hip-hop artist or actor will ever again use the "N" word.
Yeah.... right.
