The GOP Will Have Their Own Collection of Nuts in Minneapolis

I told you previously about Recreate 68, the organization that plans to disrupt the Democratic Convention in Denver. There's a companion group planning to disrupt the GOP gathering in Minnesota:

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) With the Republican National Convention a year away, a group of activists who call themselves "anarchists and anti-authoritarians" are already planning their protest strategy.

The group is called the RNC Welcoming Committee.

Bea Bridges spoke for the group today, saying that the group will not seek permits to demonstrate during the Republican National Convention. She says efforts to restrict protesters through permits constituted repression and a (quote) "violent threat." Bridges also showed a video that hinted at confrontational tactics.

The group is planning a private strategy session over this Labor Day weekend.
They may not like permits, but without them, they won't get within a mile of the convention site. They'll be stuck somewhere in the suburbs disrupting people's backyard barbeques.

UPDATE: Captain Ed points out the irony of anarchists holding organizing meetings.
