The U.S. Joint Forces Command Checks In

I received an email today from a public affairs specialist at the U.S. Joint Forces Command in Virginia, and he wanted to pass along some of the good work their outfit is doing for the people of America:

In case you are unfamiliar with us, USJFCOM is one of the nation's nine unified commands and is the Department of Defense's executive agent for military transformation. Transformation is the future of the military, and we are the flux capacitor that makes it possible. Whether it is the latest on joint training, Bold Quest to examine friendly force tracking capability or the newest gear to aid the warfighter, Command helps test new gun shot location system , USJFCOM is at the fore front of tomorrows military.

USJFCOM is about more than just "gee whiz" technology. USJFCOM alsoworks closely with our allies, whether it be individual countries or analliance like NATO's Allied Command Transformation.

Given the uproar that resulted from the friendly fire death of Army Ranger Pat Tillman, or the tragic loss of the Brits who were killed by one of our aircraft during the Iraq War, that friendly force tracking system could certainly make a huge difference in the battlefield of the future. You can find out more about this Command here.

And thanks to the USJFCOM for their service!
