It's Beginning to Sound a Lot Like Christmas

Today is decorating day in our household as the turkey stuff goes out and the Christmas stuff goes up. It's a several day process around here given the massive amount of lighting and decoration we do each year. I'm always the first on the street to get the lights up, and three different people (including the UPS guy) asked me to come and do their house when I was done.

They can't afford me. Hopefully the high winds won't blow it all down.

We got lucky again this year. We have a tree in front that's maintained by the association and they only trim it once a year. Last year they trimmed it the week before Thanksgiving, so it was ready for the lights and decorations. I was afraid they wouldn't get to it in time this year, but last week two guys showed up and trimmed the tree. Interestingly, it was the only one of probably 20 similar trees on our street that was trimmed (and they all need it).

They must really like my lights.

I usually post photos once the outside lights are done, but I'll have to wait until Monday. I have three more lighted spheres to go up in the tree out front and they won't be delivered until then.

For those that live in the greater Los Angeles area, let me recommend a radio station for the Christmas listening pleasure - 103.5 KOST FM. It's usually a soft rock station, but starting today they run Christmas music 24/7 until Christmas Day, and most of the songs are classic recordings that everybody knows and loves. Unless I'm listening to Rush in the morning, that's my station until Christmas Day.

If you don't live within the station's signal, you can listen online.
