I'm reading today that blogger friend Joe Carter of Evangelical Outpost will be taking a leave of absense from his day job at the Family Research Council and will be heading to Arkansas to work on the Mike Huckabee team. Joe's a sharp guy and no doubt will provide some quality work and counsel to the Huckabee campaign.
Some months ago Joe helped found "Blogs for Fred", but as explained in a previous post became disenchanted with the lethargic ex-actor/ex-Senator and switched his allegiance to Huckabee. Today Joe gives an impassioned defense of Huckabee in response to an editorial at National Review.
I'm not yet convinced that Huckabee has what it takes to win a general election against Clinton or Obama, but it would be an interesting fight. In many ways I'd hate to see the general election come down to another former Arkansas governor and another Clinton. How boring.
I wish Joe the best of luck, but I wouldn't take out a long-term lease in Little Rock.
