McClellan Follows the Approved Route to Book Promotion

If you want to get your book noticed by the press, first you have to bash President Bush. It's guaranteed to get you on all the morning shows and plenty of other press coverage. As White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan saw many others take that route to fame and fortune, and now he's taking his shot:
WASHINGTON — Former White House press secretary Scott McClellan is lashing out at the Bush administration, claiming in his new book that the White House intentionally misled him concerning the CIA leak case and that President Bush was involved in his passing along "false information" to the press.
McClellan was totally unsuited to the job. He always had that "deer in the headlights" look about him and the press regularly slapped him around. His ineptitude was one of the reasons the White House had such a tough time during that period, and why Tony Snow was such a breath of fresh air when he took the job. Tony regained control in the press room, and his successor, Dana Perino, has been strong as well.
