"The problem is not with the people who started this, the problem is with us."Blame America first on full display. I predict that despite the hype and the starpower (including Scientologist/wacko Tom Cruise) that this movie will go the same way as the other underperforming antiwar flicks currently dying at the box office. More people will go to see Fred Claus (the new Christmas comedy with Vince Vaughn and Paul Giamatti that opens the same day) than will go to see Lions and Lambs. As I've said previously, people go to the movies to be entertained, not lectured to.
For the review I offer Dan in Real Life, the new chick flick comedy starting Steve Carell. It's a very good movie and you'll enjoy it. Carell is not a one-trick actor. You quickly forget Michael Scott of The Office and are immersed in "Dan", the newspaper columnist/widower with three daughters that he plays in this movie. Carell plays vulnerable and hurting in this movie just as well as he plays arrogant and bombastic in The Office. And, of course, it has a happy ending that's sure to bring a tear to every lady's eye.
Go see it.
