(2007-12-17) — Former President Bill Clinton mounted the campaign stump again today as part of his wife’s new charm offensive, telling Iowa voters that “Hillary Clinton is not as unlikable as everyone says.”With Drudge running this photo at the top of the page, likeability may be the least of Hillary's problems:
“A lot of people who have met her, worked with her and even seen her on TV believe that she’s cold and mean-spirited,” said Mr. Clinton. “But they don’t know how kind, generous and warm Hillary can be when she’s behind in the polls.”
“I’m not just saying this because she’s my wife, and I’d like to go with her when she moves back into the White House,” the former president said. “Shoot, when a woman’s husband cheats on her in her own home, and disgraces the family name in front of the whole world … and she sticks with him … that’s likable right there.”
**SHUDDER** Charming. Not her best look. If she doesn't get elected, how is Bill going to get his Supreme Court job? This writer thinks that's what Bill's angling for if he can't be King of the World.
During a stump speech on Sunday Hillary made an interesting request of the audience:
"There's so much we can do together if we work together as a world. Remember that movie Independence Day, where invaders were coming from outer space and the whole world was united against the invasion? Why can't we be united on behalf of our planet? And that's what I want to do, to get more and more people to understand that and to be involved to protect our environment."Yes, we should band together to protect the earth from alien invaders.
By the way, in that movie the president's spouse dies. Is Hillary telling us something?
