Dems Vote to Fund the War Without Restrictions

The Dem cave-in continues with the news that the Senate voted 90-3 to fund the Iraq and Afghanistan wars with another $189 billion and no demands for troop pullouts. I guess the Senators want to go home in time for Christmas. None of the Senators currently running for president cast a vote.

The Wall Street Journal had a classic paragraph which probably explains the Democrats in Congress better than anything:
In the movie "Animal House," the fraternity brother known as Otter reacts to the Delta House's closure with the classic line, "I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part." To which Bluto, played by John Belushi, replies, "We're just the guys to do it." The movie ends by noting that Bluto becomes a Senator, so perhaps this explains the meltdown among Democrats on Capitol Hill.

So true.
