Powerline has a post on the 75th birthday of 50's rocker Little Richard. You can read it here. I actually spent a memorable evening with Little Richard back in 1976. I was part of a gospel group, and somehow our drummer (who was an African-American) made contact with Richard and he wanted to meet our group. We met him at some club in Los Angeles. Richard was pretty well lit by the time we got there and looked like he'd applied his makeup with a trowel. We spent an awkward couple of hours in an environment that none of us were used to or particularly comfortable with. Nothing more ever came of it.
He actually looks better at 75 than he did that night. Happy birthday, Richard!
