I was driving north on the I-5 this morning when traffic suddenly slowed in Irvine. I ran though some assorted glass and plastic car parts and saw off to the right a three car collision. The drivers were out exchanging info.
I assumed that was the cause of the delay, but things stayed slow until I'd gone about another half mile and I saw this scene that I snapped with my cellphone camera:
It was a couple of Paul Bearers waving a flag and their Ron Paul sign on the overpass. They were completely messing up traffic, and if they think that's how you get votes, no wonder their guy is regularly in single digits.
What you can't see in the photo is that just off to the left is a police cruiser. He had just pulled up and I'm guessing he shortly removed the dummies from the bridge. I'm all for free political speech, but only up to the point that it inconveniences or endangers me. Drivers all around were slowing to look at the bridge spectacle, and others who didn't notice the sudden slowing, paid the price a half mile back. I wish I could have had the cops hold the Paul Bearers and charge them with causing that accident.
